I, Dr. A. S. M. Abdur Rahim, President of the Jami Mosque and Islamic Centre state that the government's plan to have a power to regulate and control the functioning of Mosques is seriously objectionable. It will never bring any positive results rather create discriminations and misunderstandings.
We believe the idea proposed by The Muslim Council of Britain in enhancing the standard and harmonizing the governance of Mosque is more appropriate.
We strongly support MCB's research programme titled with `Voice from Minaret' and wish it will help in ensuring a better life and understanding for the Muslims ion the UK as well as produce a better religious harmony.
Signed
Dr. Maulana A.S.M. Abdur Rahim
