Ms Madina Kalimullina, the Director of the Economic Department of the Russia Mufties Council, visited the MCB office on Saturday 9th July 2011. The visit was received by Farooq Murad, Secretary General, and members from the Business & Economics Committee, the Europe & International Affairs Committee and the Membership Committee.
The visit was an opportunity for the Russia Mufties Council to learn more about how the MCB represents and helps to benefit the Muslim community in the UK. Furthermore, it was a chance for the MCB and the Russia Mufties Council to foster greater relations and look to develop possible development opportunities for both organisations. A number of areas were identified for exchange of information and cooperation between Muslims of UK and Russia. These included Islamic finance, Halal standards and expos, business, scholarships for educational opportunities and participating in exchange events.
