Current Projects

• Community Development Seminars on Education
  The MCB has initiated a national programme of seminars on Education. The aim of these seminars is to raise awareness of important issues, increase participation from the Muslim community in education i.e. governors and to create a focus on priorities that will be most effective in raising attainment levels and ensuring that spiritual, moral social and cultural needs of Muslim pupils are met adequately.


• Muslims into Teaching
  To overcome poor representation of Muslims in the teaching profession we are encouraging and promoting more Muslims into the teaching profession through various activities.


• Resources for Schools
  To promote a greater understanding of Islam and Muslims, we are working towards promoting the development of accurate resources for schools. There are a number of initiatives in progress:-
  
  i. Books for Schools project. RE resources for Primary and Secondary schools (click for info)

  ii. Developing Islamic Collective Worship (assemblies) resource material for Primary & Secondary schools.
  iii. Developing Audit tool and Guidelines for meeting the needs of Muslim pupils
  iv. Recommended books for Primary and Secondary school libraries
  v. Developing resources for the History module 'cultural achievements of the Islamic civilisation'.
  vi. Sex education resources that are sensitive to the morals and values of Islam.
