A recent interview with Iqbal Sacranie, published in The Daily Telegraph, gives something of an insight of the demands and responsibilities of holding the post of Secretary General of the MCB (see link on right for the interview). With Iqbal's successful term drawing to a close, the question being asked both here and abroad is who will rise to the challenge of leading Britain's Muslim community?
The Muslim Council of Britain's seventh Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on May 22nd 2004 at Brent Town Hall in Wembley. Along with the AGM, Muslim organisations will partake in elections which will select members to the Central Working Committee and the post of Secretary General, arguably the most influential position held by any Muslim in Britain.
