Melanie Phillips and Israeli action, from Inayat Bunglawala
The Editor Daily Mail
16th May 2005
Dear Sir,
To hear Melanie Phillips lecturing the BBC about the need for impartiality (Daily Mail, 16 May 2005) is somewhat akin to listening to a burglar giving 'advice' about home security.
Ms Phillips' obsessive quest over the years to whitewash any Israeli action including its illegal and often brutal occupation of Palestinian lands leads her to a hardly balanced position on the Middle East.
If the Daily Mail really wants to occupy the moral high ground then you can begin by employing columnists who are less viscerally hostile to Arabs and Muslims.
Yours faithfully,
Inayat Bunglawala, Secretary, Media Committee, The Muslim Council of Britain
