Professional human capital is a precious resource, this being particularly true in western societies which are increasingly becoming knowledge-based economies. As Britain's Muslim organisations continue to develop and expand, it is vital for their future success that they are able to attract and retain high-quality professional staff. Anecdotal evidence however suggests that this is already proving difficult but contrary to popular opinion this appears not to be related to any lack of enthusiasm to engage with Muslim organisations on the part of young professional British Muslims.
We believe that Aamir Rehman's qualitative study of human capital deficit in North American Islamic organisations offers important insights to our predicament here in Britain, but we leave it to you to be the judge....
