| `I would recommend this book to anyone because I think they will enjoy it as much as I did.' |
I enjoyed reading this book because it was fun to read and I also learnt a lot more than I thought. When I first saw the book without opening it, I did not want to read it, but when I did start reading it I found it was much more interesting than I had originally thought. You know what they say - looks can be deceiving. I think that Zubia Imami is a brilliant author because when you want to describe something such as the Islamic months, you do not want to make it too long so that your reader gets bored. Although Zubia wrote the book in detail it is a very enjoyable read. This book tells you all about the Islamic calendar. It explains the significance of each month and what is special about it, highlighting the importance of it, such as Ramadan the month in which we fast. So the moral of the story is, if you pick up a book and decide not to read it because of its cover you'll never know what was waiting for you inside! I would recommend this book because I hope others will enjoy it as much as I did. Hala Bashir, aged 11 Author & illustrator: Zubia Imami Sheikh. Publisher: TaHa Publishers |
