Better Mosques: A Community Consultation

Tell us how we should achieve better mosques in 2018

‘Better Mosques: A Community Consultation’ is a nationwide consultation – running from 20 January to 31 March 2018 – inviting views on how a structured and national approach to developing better mosques in the UK can be achieved. Details are online at:

It was launched the Our Mosques Our Future conference on 20 January 2018 that saw over 400 mosque leaders and activists across the UK come together to explore the evolving role of the mosque in 21st century Britain under the theme ‘#MoreThanaPrayerSpace’

Five ideas for national services that could benefit mosques and their communities are proposed in the consultation. These include a Best Practice Online Portal, Discounts Scheme, Certification Service, Vacancies Board and an Independent Mediation Service. Suggestions for other ideas are also welcome.

The consultation is open to mosque committee members, trustees, volunteers, Imams, students, recent graduates, professionals, academics and anyone with an interest in the future of mosques in Britain today!

Individuals can take part in the consultation via an online survey, emailing [email protected] or participating in one of five Regional Mosque Forums to be organised in 2018.
