In a BBC radio interview on 6th August, Restore Britain’s leader Rupert Lowe was challenged by BBC journalist Nick Robinson. Aside from refusing to say whether he believes King Charles is a “white Briton”… Lowe also said some areas of Manchester are British and others are “more Muslim areas”.

He added: “If you go to Curry Mile you see entire [Muslim] communities who basically are pursuing their own culture, religion and agenda.”

A spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Britain said: “We wonder if Mr Lowe’s disapproval of Manchester’s Curry Mile extends to one of Britain’s most famous dishes, the Chicken Tikka Masala. We look forward to hearing his similar criticisms of Manchester’s Chinatown, North London’s Kosher-filled high streets or South London’s Little Portugal cultural hotspots too.”
