The Muslim Council of Britain has written a letter to the UK’s Jordanian Ambassador to express its profound concern regarding recent reports suggesting that the United States and Israel are discussing proposals that could alter the historic and legal status of Masjid Al-Aqsa, including the possible removal of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s custodianship and the establishment of a new Israeli-controlled administrative body that may seek to redefine the sacred sanctuary as a “multi-faith centre”.
