Ramadan Health Factsheet 2023

Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan is obligatory on all adult Muslims, health permitting. Many patients and NHS staff will be fasting of wanting to fast during Ramadan.

This health factsheet is designed to help NHS trusts and front-line NHS staff not observing Ramadan to understand the importance of this religious obligation and how belief may affect the different elements of care in this instance.
