The Muslim Council of Britain extends its sincere appreciation to The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for engaging in a meaningful dialogue. Director Marta and Marc Lassouaoui – Senior Manager Outreach Europe graciously shared insights into the pivotal work they are undertaking in Gaza, where a single shelter is diligently caring for 600,000 civilians. Their impactful efforts on the ground are making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected.
With a commitment to education, UNRWA provides schools for young people and ensures the safety of individuals with a dedicated staff of 30,000. Their ultimate goal is not longevity, as they recognise their role as a temporary solution addressing a broader, long-term issue.
Together, both reflected on the dire situation, acknowledging the somber loss of life among those dedicated to providing aid and relief. The urgency to lift the siege in Gaza was a focal point of our discussion.
In reaffirming the Muslim Council of Britain expressed unwavering support for UNRWA’s impactful work and broader advocacy for a lasting peace in Palestine. As we stand united, our shared commitment remains steadfast in addressing the pressing challenges faced by the people of Gaza.
