On Tuesday 6 November, the Muslim Council of Britain wrote to members of the House of Lords with a briefing in support of amendments to the CTSB (Counter Terrorism and Security Bill) that call for an independent review of Prevent
The briefing comes ahead of Monday 12 November, where the Bill will be going through the third day of the Committee Stage in the House of Lords.
The amendment seeks to arrange an independent review of Prevent, a strand of the Government’s Counter-Terrorism strategy and has been proposed by Lord Rosser and Lord Kennedy of Southwark, similar to those proposed by Baroness Hamwee and others.
